Firstly, a very Happy New Year to you all. What a start it has been..
Yesterday evening the Prime Minister announced a third national lockdown. However, unlike the first lockdown in March 2020, the housing market is to remain open.
Government advice on home moving during the lockdown remains unchanged. Consequently, people in England will be able to move and removal firms, tradespeople, and estate and letting agents can still operate by going inside homes. Adherence to safety and social distancing remains crucial.
Official Government advice on moving home:
- You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary.
- Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings.
- Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face covering.
Our Head Office is open, however, visits are strictly by appointment only. We have a number of procedures in place to ensure the safety of our clients and staff at all times. We will be operating with reduced staff in the office during this lockdown, with some working from home.
Following advice from our governing body, property inspections at our properties under management will not be going ahead during the course of this lockdown. We are aiming to recommence inspections on 1st March 2021, providing the lockdown has been relaxed.
We will continue to monitor the Government guidance closely and will react to any changes hastily, as and when they are announced.
